NES is a customer-focused EH&S Consulting and Education solution provider based in Folsom, California. Founded in 1988, NES spent 30+ years growing organically through referrals, partnerships, and a seller-doer model that resulted in a fragmented approach to sales and marketing. In 2022, NES approached OTM for help taking the business to the next level. With a new leadership team and a renewed sense of energy, the NES team partnered with OTM to establish a brand and story that the entire company could get behind.

Our Approach

We began The OTM Path to Growth® process with five different in-depth discovery meetings, one with each of the internal stakeholders at NES. What we found was that each person we met with had a different answer to the question, “What does NES do for clients?” resulting in fragmented sales and marketing as well as a lack of cultural alignment.

We knew that we had to get everyone on the same page, using the same language, and working as a team in order to take the company to the next level.

From there we performed a competitive and market analysis in order to tease out strong value propositions, and then we took the team through a highly collaborative brand story exercise where we defined who they are, what they do, who they serve, and why they exist. Once we got everyone to align around one brand story, we were able to create a customer journey map that brought together each division, creating a unified approach to sales.

We then developed an entirely new NES brand – featuring a new more modern logo, colors, and shapes that align with the core brand identity, and a new website designed and developed to holistically represent each division of NES and how they come together to provide one full-circle EH&S solution for clients.
