Welcome to 2014 from Old Town Media!
The New Year is a time for “new”… it brings new ideas and a newfound drive to achieve more over the 12 months that will follow. It can be extremely refreshing, but it can also be overwhelming.
Here to help, these are our top picks for what your business should be focusing on in 2014:
- Succumb to the fact that social media isn’t going away. If you’ve been resisting the jump to join Facebook or ignoring those LinkedIn invites, this is the year to embrace the benefits of social media or outsource to a company that can effectively replicate your passion for your business.
- Update your website – the RIGHT way! Stop paying your friends friend who can build a website for you for pennies on the dollar. Your website is your storefront, it’s the first thing the hundreds to millions of people searching online are going to see when they discover you! Don’t you want to make a good impression? Not the “I built this myself from a free template” impression? A good site is worth the money and will save you the hassle of rebuilding it over and over again.
- Plan ahead. It’s 2014! Time isn’t going to go by any slower, so start planning ahead. Plan your marketing for the entire year and stop executing re-active marketing tactics.
- Step outside of your comfort zone. It’s time to take chances whether it’s in marketing, investing in new equipment, hiring new employees or taking out loans to expand your small business – if you believe in what you’re doing, others will believe in it too.
We can go on and on with more and more to-do’s for the New Year, but instead, we’ll leave you with a quote:
“Time is free, but it’s priceless. You can’t own it, but you can use it. You can’t keep it, but you can spend it. Once you’ve lost it you can never get it back.”
