Google AdWords recently pushed out an update that looks absolutely fantastic.
The update makes the whole experience more clear and easier to navigate. The updated color scheme and larger navigation help make the site easier to swallow and easier to find what you’re looking for. The one thing that wasn’t upgraded that we were hoping for was the graphs and data portions. Analytics has such a sleek interface and we wish that it would have been copied over into AdWords a little more.
There is a definite lesson to be learned here – design isn’t always what looks the best, it’s what solves the problem and provides a clear navigation. Google could have gone for a stunning redesign that would have multiple awards; they certainly have the staff minds to do so. Instead, they went with a simple and incredibly usable design that would be convenient for small businesses and mega companies alike to use.
